A school teacher in Hoogly district, West Bengal, has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following allegations of forcing minor girl students to strip and taking inappropriate photographs. The arrest was made by the West Bengal Police based on multiple complaints filed by local villagers.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Priyabrata Bakshi confirmed the arrest, stating, “The teacher has been arrested on the basis of complaints lodged by local villagers. Appropriate charges are being pressed against him.” The incident prompted an immediate response from the parents of the affected children, who staged an agitation at the school, ultimately locking up the teacher inside the building until the police arrived to take action.
The arrest comes as a result of the disturbing allegations made by local villagers, with the teacher accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with minor girls over an extended period. The concerned parents, agitated by the gravity of the accusations, took matters into their own hands by locking up the teacher inside the school premises until law enforcement arrived.
The mother of one of the affected children emphasized the severity of the situation, stating, “The teacher has been doing this for quite some time. He saved the photos on his phone. We demand stern action.” The West Bengal Police are now investigating the case further, ensuring that appropriate charges are pressed against the accused teacher.
